Can you tell us a little about your story?
Hi! I’m Raquel and I’m a QA Analyst at Visor.ai. I grew up in the countryside and I love animals 😊 I have a Master’s Degree in Renewable Energies Engineering and I’m working at Visor.ai since 2022. During my Master’s thesis, I worked with a simulation software that turned my mind into the Tech World. I got my first opportunity in 2021 as QA for Vodafone and last year I accepted Visor.ai’s challenge 😀
What do you love about working in tech and at Visor.ai?
What gives me the most joy is the constant challenge that my role at Visor.ai brings to me. We’re always innovating by adding more value to our product, giving everyone the opportunity of being creative.
What’s your biggest achievement?
5 months after I begin my first experience as a QA Analyst, I was given the opportunity to work at our client’s office in Frankfurt for 2 months. That brought me an amazing feeling, because I was trusted to work at our client office abroad.
If you could give your young self one piece of advice, what would it be?
Keep in mind that it’s ok not to have your life perfectly defined at age 25 and don’t restrict the future to your academic subjects.
How can society, universities, and, companies engage and empower more women in the tech world?
In my opinion, the most important thing to do is encourage an early interest in young girls and that should begin in an early age, at school. That could be done, for example, with extracurricular activities and mentorship programs. A good thing is that nowadays there are several programs directed to support tech students and recent graduates, such as Portuguese Women in Tech.
Where do you want the future to take you?
I don’t think about the future often. I know that it’s built based on what I do every day and at Visor.ai, I’m learning how to do it the best way possible.
